HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!
I hope you all enjoyed seeing the New Year in, whether it be in a large group, at a party, or simply curled up at home waiting for Big Ben to chime the arrival of the next year. May the year ahead bring you great adventures, laughter, creativity and happiness.
I have been busily working away on the Ma hand in for my last module, and was working away at my desk until the very last minute of the year, getting images ready to be uploaded Ma website for the final show in London. Its all incredibly exciting, and I feel very privileged to be surrounded by so many talented people.
But for now, here is After the Party – an image started whilst drawing in my local bar, drinking tea. It’s a superb spot for sketching people, as there is a Zebra crossing outside the large windows so lots of people pass by, but they wait just long enough for me to capture their poses and posture. It’s amazing how many different ways people stand whilst they are waiting for the traffic to stop. And in addition to the everyday, one can sometimes spot a scene that fires the imagination…..
I wanted to show that the magical world of the child is everywhere. I think the original child was in school uniform and I thought “what if……..?” The greys show the world as some see it – mundane, but for many of us, it is not – it is full of colour, magic and intrigue. I would love to be this girl and wearing her cat costume.
